Mervi´s story

He'd always considered himself rational. Perhaps a bit of an overthinker But he couldn't move from thinking to doing. He was stuck. His thoughts were intrusive, disturbing, unceasing. Realizing he was a prisoner of his own mind was the first step to making peace with his condition.

A child who wanted to be an adult. A teenager that played with knives. A lacerating pain that cuts deeper than the skin: to live in anguish and fear not to be loved in her condition. This is a sample portrait of the rollercoaster journey as a borderline.

When the lack of patience, the sudden rage and the will to disappear emerged at a time when life should blossom, she realized that something was not right. It was not the usual, postpartum depression. Her journey led her to uncover traumas deeply rooted in the family tree.

A violent robbery, an early-childhood abuse, the illnesses of her parents and her life as an immigrant, generated traumas that were later amplified. Their echoes came back to haunt her shaped as a post-traumatic stress syndrome.
